What is Mathematics for Data Science 1 about?

Maths 1 is a Foundation-level course covering the math base for the rest of the programme: set theory and number systems, coordinate geometry, quadratics, and polynomials.

• ▸Week 1: set theory, natural/rational/real numbers, relations and functions.
• ▸Week 2: coordinate geometry — lines, distance, slope — plus an early look at linear regression.
• ▸Week 3: quadratic functions, their roots, and parabola geometry.
• ▸Week 4: polynomials — degree, roots, factoring, division.
