IITM BS answers
How is the IITM BS course grade calculated?
The formula depends on the course level. Diploma-level courses (like MLF, MLT) weight 5% of your score on your first 10 weekly assignments (GAA); Foundation-level courses (the Maths and Stats courses) drop that GAA term entirely and weight quizzes and the end term more heavily instead.
- ▸Diploma: T = 0.05·GAA + the better of (0.6·end-term + 0.25·better quiz) or (0.4·end-term + 0.25·Quiz 1 + 0.3·Quiz 2).
- ▸Foundation: T = the better of (0.6·end-term + 0.3·better quiz) or (0.45·end-term + 0.25·Quiz 1 + 0.3·Quiz 2) — no GAA term at all.
- ▸In both cases, a quiz you didn't attempt counts as 0, and both formula branches are computed — whichever gives the higher score is used.
- ▸Use the grade calculator for your specific course to plug in your own marks and see this worked out live.
